PANTS, an Original Musical Synopsis
PANTS is a full-length musical comedy set in a small American town. When Dan Walters, a good-natured but conflict-avoidant software programmer, wakes up hungover after a night out with his best friend Jim, his already complicated day takes a sharp turn into the absurd. Three alien researchers, the clinical Wilma, the poetic Zeevor, and the streetwise Bernard have stolen his khaki pants as part of a social experiment, leaving Dan contractually obligated to spend the day without them.
What follows is a day of escalating chaos. Dan must navigate his girlfriend Michelle's important art show opening, dinner with her parents, a traffic stop on live television, a viral social media moment, and eventually a jail cell, all while trying to hold his relationship and his dignity together in his boxer shorts.
Meanwhile Michelle, hurt and skeptical that Dan has once again let her down, begins to suspect that his outlandish excuse might actually be true. As she and Jim investigate, they discover that the experiment is part of something far more serious and that Dan's embarrassing day may have consequences that extend well beyond a bad pair of khakis.
PANTS is a show about vulnerability, authenticity, and the radical act of dropping your defenses, sometimes literally. It asks whether one ordinary, flawed, pantsless man might accidentally change the world just by finally telling the truth.

Maggie Moore Scenic Designer I fell in love with theater as a kid and carried that passion with me through my twenties, fronting multiple bands and performing whenever I could. Four years ago, my family took a leap and auditioned for A Christmas Carol with Midcoast Youth Theater, and I rediscovered just how magical the stage can be. Today, I’m proud to serve as a board member and scenic designer for MYT productions, while also stepping into the spotlight as Medda in Newsies and Nancy in Oliver!. Being part of this creative community feels like coming home.
