Audition information
Auditions will be held on Tuesday Jan. 13th & Wednesday, Jan. 14th from 6:00-9:30pm
at the Mid-Coast Presbyterian Church in Topsham.
There is no pre-registration for auditions.
Everyone should plan to arrive at the START time on EITHER Tuesday or Wednesday.
You do not need to come to both days - just one or the other.
Auditions are open to performers currently in Grade 7th t0 12th
SINGING:
Audition song selections should be no longer than 2 minutes - actors should bring sheet music OR an accompaniment track (with no other voices) cued to where they wish to start the song.
We will have a bluetooth speaker available.
A cappella auditions are strongly discouraged.
.
Songs do not need to be from the show, but rather should be something the actor knows well enough that they can show personality while singing.
DANCING:
All actors should wear clothes they can comfortably move in, and bring dance shoes if they have them.
READING:
We will have sides prepared for reading at the audition.
Rehearsal Schedule
Rehearsals will mostly take place at the Midcoast Presbyterian Church in Topsham, and at the Adaptive Outdoor Education Center (AOEC) in Brunswick.
Rehearsals will begin on Sun, Jan 25th
Rehearsal schedule:
- Wednesday nights from 7:00-9:30pm (Midcoast Church)
-Thursday nights from 6:30-9:30pm (AOEC)
- Sundays afternoons from 3:00-6:00 pm (Midcoast Church)
A more detailed, day-to-day rehearsal schedule will be provided after casting and throughout the rehearsal process.
Tech week will take place at the Crooker Theater starting April 3rd
with shows running from April 9th-12th.
Actors interested in auditioning should review the rehearsal schedule carefully.
Because of the condensed timeline, cast members will need to be available for the majority
of the rehearsals and must have no prior conflicts during tech & show week.
More than 1 rehearsal “no show” may result in removal from scenes/songs.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
Casting will be an open call, however the cast size will be limited to roughly 30.
For actors who are not cast in a role, we hope you'll consider joining MYT for a future production.
